Well it appears this economic wackiness has still got us by the throat. So until things smooth out I’ve made a major change to the class schedule. I will offer two classes on the last Saturday of the month. There will be no classes in November or December. See class schedule at the bottom of this page.
Classes will be limited to 5 students.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Shiva Paintstik Class (for all abilities) – $48 (5hrs)
• Blending techniques.
• Painting with rags and brushes.
• Scraping.
Students will supply their own Shiva Paintstiks, paper and paper towels.
Supply list:
• The Basic set of 6 Shiva Paintstiks plus a colorless blender. (If you wish to buy extra single sticks I would suggest Asphaltum be one of them).
• Brushes: Hogs hair brushes work fine. If you don’t already have brushes, you don’t need to spend alot of money...by a small and a medium size. (#2 and #6 will work).
• 2 sheets of 22"x30” Stone Henge cream or white print paper.
• A roll of blue tape (the kind with the orange inner label... from any hardware store).
• A roll of paper towels

Basic Drawing Class (for all abilities) – $48 (5hrs)
• Shading techniques.
• Basic shapes as subjects.
• Shadow and reflected light.
• Basic shapes used as structure.
Students will supply their own Pencils, erasures, drawing tablet and paper towels.
Supply list:
• A 0.9 Twist Erase mechanical pencil (comes with lead and erasers) or a #2 wood pencil
• A medium sized drawing tablet (11"x14", wire bound is best)
• A Kneaded Art gum eraser (grey, wrapped in clear plastic) and a white plastic eraser.
• Paper towels.

Sketching Class (for all abilities) – $28 (3hrs)
Learn to sketch using a simple, painterly technique. Starting with a field of graphite you’ll work from dark to light using a pencil, eraser and a paper towel to create your image...it’s simple and fun. The only tools needed are a good pencil and drawing pad, a couple of erasers and a paper towel. This is something you can easily do to pass the time or to capture visual thoughts when your traveling. All your tools can be easily carried in a small tote...
Supply List:
• A 0.9 Twist Erase mechanical pencil (comes with lead and erasers).
• A small 5"x7” drawing tablet, wire bound (something easy to carry).
• A Kneaded Art gum eraser (grey, wrapped in clear plastic) and a white plastic eraser.
• A hand full of paper towels.
(The mechanical pencil is available at office supply stores).

Etching Class (for all abilities) – $85 (7hrs)
Dry point etching using copper plates. Dry point etching does not involve acid. All tools are supplied for use. A 4"x6” copper plate and use of ink are included in the price.
Students will supply their own print paper and paper towels.
Supply list:
• 2 - 22"x30” Reeves BFK print paper.
• A roll of paper towels.
• An apron or wear old clothes...this can be messy.

Monotype Class (for all abilities) – $85 (7hrs)
• Creating prints with Shiva Paintstiks.
• Creating prints with printers inks.
• Plexiglass plates are supplied for use.
• Ink usage is included in the price.
• Students supply their own Shiva paintstiks, print paper and Paper towels.
Supply list:
• The Basic set of Shiva Paintstiks.
• 3 - 22"x30” sheets of Reeves BFK print paper or similar.
• A roll of paper towels.
